Using our sealed quench or muffle furnaces.

Normalising from Servis Heat Treatment

A heat treatment process performed on ferrous materials that have been forged, cast or hot rolled. Post heat treatment the steel has a more predictable grain structure making it more stable during its further manufacturing procedures.

The material is heated to its equivalent hardening temperature and the microstructure transforms the unrefined ferrite grains into austenitic grains. As the component is not quenched but allowed to cool slowly the austenitic grains revert back to refined ferrite.

We can perform this process in air or an inert atmosphere furnaces to prevent oxidation and decarburization.
